What does this development mean for me as an IDM Student?

1.     How will the status and  recognition of IDM Qualifications be affected by this development?

  •  This development has no bearing on the status and recognition of qualifications offered by the institution. The qualifications are accredited by the Botswana Qualifications Authority and the institution will continue to adhere to the standards that have been set by BQA. Students will, on completion of their studies, be awarded IDM qualifications accredited by BQA. Most importantly, the institution will adhere to all BQA requirements on the protection of enrolled learners.

2.     Given that we are currently IDM students, what will the newly formed Institution be called?

  • It will be called IDM Botswana.

3.     How will the change affect our studies?

  • The institution will adhere to all BQA requirements on the protection of enrolled learners.

4.     Is IDM Botswana going to cater for students' extra curricular activities?

  • Yes. The provision of extra curricular activities will continue as part of enhancing learner experience.

5.     Is there a likelihood for the transfer of students from Francistown to Gaborone campus?

  • There are currently no planned movements of students between campuses. However, Any student movements, as has always been the case, will be communicated to the affected students well on time.

6. What support will be given to students to enable them to cope with the change process?

  • The Student services office will provide counselling and support to students as part of the change management process.

7. What will happen to Regional Activities e.g. Graduation, Intercampus Games, Academic Body, and Beauty Contests?

  • The three autonomous IDM campuses of Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini are yet to deliberate on the matter.
